Quickstart
This guide gets you from zero to a working Checkpoint setup using the official released artifacts: a self-hosted server (via Docker Compose) and the desktop client (from the GitHub Releases installers).
Concepts
This page explains the moving parts of Checkpoint and the words the rest of the docs use. If you have used Perforce, most of it will feel familiar. If you come from Git, the biggest differences are that history lives on a server rather than in every copy, changelists get one number per repo, and binary files are locked rather than merged.
Public Beta
Checkpoint is in public beta (Early Access). Thank you for trying it. This page sets expectations: what the beta is, what works today, what does not yet, and how to tell us when something goes wrong.
